About Leopard Gecko Rehoming Package

The leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius) is a small to medium-sized, nocturnal lizard native to arid regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, northwestern India, and parts of Iran. They are popular pets due to their docile nature, ease of care, and distinct spotted appearance, which resembles the coat of a leopard.

Handling your Leopard Gecko

When handling your Leopard Gecko ensure you support his body and ensure your surroundings are safe. Leopard Geckos are not the best climbers so make sure they are safe if climbing on any enrichment inside or outside the enclosure.

Handling sessions should be around 45 minutes maximum due to Leopard geckos needing access to the UVB and heat in the enclosure. Always make sure there are no pets like dogs and cats around when handling your Leopard Gecko.

Leopard geckos can drop their tails and regrow them. They do this when they feel threatened or scared, Always be careful touching their tails and avoid pulling, pinching or grabbing their tails.

Geckos also eat their shed, if you ever see your geckos pulling at its skin, do not panic it is just shedding.

Leopard Gecko Diet

Leopard geckos eat a diet of live insects, which can include ‘calci worms’, waxworms and small locusts (no bigger than the size of your gecko’s head).

You should feed young geckos every day and adults every other day.

You must use supplements in your geckos diet.

There are also diets such as Arcadia Reptiles Insectigold which is a great addition to your geckos diet.

You also want to ensure your feeder bugs have been gut loaded (fed) before offering to your gecko. We use Arcadia
Reptiles Insectfuel.

Supplementing your Leopard Gecko Diet
The use of high-quality reptile supplements in the correct amounts at the correct frequencies will help to ensure optimum bone health and skin health for your reptile, and help to avoid a plethora of nutrition-related illnesses such as metabolic bone disease.

EarthPro-A at every feed and on all food items, EarthPro-CalciumProMg at every 4th feed, A quality full-spectrum powder with D3 and A can be offered at feed 6 or 8. We then carry on with this cycle. EarthPro-ShedSupport can be as directed over the shedding period.

Also, InsectiGold can be offered as part of the full and varied diet at up to 60% of the total diet, depending on species.
